Greenings,
This might be a bit late: Saturday 1 January 2005 at 1730/5:30, BOOK TALK
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby. Bauby was the editor
of the French magazine Elle when a stroke left him comatose for 20
days. He awoke
with only the use of his left eyelid. Through a system of blinks,
Bauby dictated his
memoir, which was published two days before his death.
Sunday 2 January at 0100/1 AM, "Woodrow Wilson: A Passion" (Part 1 of 2)
Sundays at 1200, RELIGION AND ETHICS NEWSWEEKLY. I find this an interesting
program, but I don't like its implication that one can't be ethical
without being
religious. Take a look at Bush!
Sunday 2 January from 1300/1PM to 1700/5PM, HERITAGE: CIVILIZATION AND THE JEWS
For better or worse, the Jews have highly influenced Western
Civilization; it is referred to
Judeo-Christian.
Sunday at 2000/8PM, NATURE. "Land of the Falling Lakes" in the heart
of Croatial lies
an untouched landscape where green forests lie between steep chalk
cliffs and gorges,
and a chain of lakes flows one into another across natural dams and a
thousand waterfalls.
(Repeats Saturday 8 January at 0300)
Sunday at 2300/11PM, NOVA. "The Elegant Universe: Welcome To The 11th
Dimension"
Third and final episode. This is a fine mind-bending program.
KNPB/Channel 5 has a new President and General Manager. He is Kliff
Kuehl. For the past
10 years he was CEO of KWBU TV and radio of Waco, Texas, located on the campus
of Baylor University.
I just heard on C-SPAN that the new budget will cut Pell Grants to
90,000 university students.
And Bush is the "education" President!
