What follows is my personal statement of candidacy for the Green Party
of Nevada's Executive Council.

A fourth-generation Nevadan, I feel especially connected to this state,
its issues, and people. Though born and raised in the Las Vegas valley,
I have also lived for a time in or around the cities of Ely and
Laughlin.

I have been a registered member of the Green Party since July 2004, in
preparation for the Presidential election later that year - the first
in which I was able to participate.

Since registering Green in Nevada in 2004, I have been active in the
Green Party of both Clark and Maricopa (Arizona) counties, tabling in
Maricopa, and maintaining the website for Clark County, among other
things.

We must not forget that the Green Party is an electoral entity of an
activist community. As such, the Green Party of Nevada needs to be on
the pulse of the political scene within the state. In the short term,
this means calling attention to current legislation, holding our
elected officials accountable for their actions and proposals, as well
as establishing positions on issues of importance at the state and
local levels. In the long term, of course, we will be electing Greens
to all levels of government, resulting in the representation of the
under-represented and the implementation of a truly progressive agenda.

Therefore, I would like to offer my nomination for the position of
Secretary or Member At-Large of the Green Party of Nevada.

As an officer of the Executive Council, I will work to implement and
ensure the aforementioned, as well as work to make the Green Party an
organization that represents and betters the community both in and out
of legislative sessions.
