The following is my personal statement of intention for Executive Co-Chair
or Member At-Large for the Green Party of Nevada:

My political history started when I joined the Army shortly after high
school. At this time I was pretty conservative in mindset and I threw myself
into being a soldier for the U.S. Army.

It was after being in the Army for a couple of years that I was introduced
to an alternative way of thinking and to the realization that our government
and the (at the time) Reagan administration was capable of commiting some
pretty nasty acts. I gradually moved to the left and became a Democrat.

After serving for 6 years, I got out of the Army, moved west to Portland,
OR., and became a full time student majoring in Anthropology. It was here I
learned about the Green Party by a professor, but thought this was only a
party in Europe. I very much loved the idea of being a member of the Green
Party as it stands for everything I believe in. That combined with the fact
that Dems can be just as guilty as Republicans in many areas, and I didn't
feel I quite fit into the Democratic Party but felt I had no other option. I
eventually moved to San Francisco, CA. and discovered that I too could
become a Green and immediately registered Green in 1996.

After graduating from college, I worked for The World Affairs Council in San
Francisco; a non-profit whose goal it is to inform the public on foreign
affairs and policy. I learned a great deal at this organization and met some
very learned and interesting people who continue to be a great influence in
my political leanings.

I moved to Las Vegas in 2002, and realized the Green Party isn't as strong
and popular here as it is in California. It is my sincere wish and goal to
change this and to make the Green Party of Nevada a viable alternative to
voters, as well as to supply the Green Party in Nevada a cast of candidates
who believe in and follow the 10 Key Values of the Green Party.

That is why I would like to be considered for the role of Executive Co-Chair
or Member At-Large. I would like to help the party any way I can. I believe
my stint in the Army has given me incredible organization skills, and my
time at The World Affairs Council made me realize the importance of public
awareness of important political issues.

Thank you for your consideration,
Tracy Crawford
