[NV Greens] RE: agenda

Bob, these are some great ideas! Tracy is working on an agenda for the
EC meeting on July 31 and you and her might want to work on that
together.

My thoughts on the focus of the EC meeting are similar to yours, but
with an added focus of getting as many people as possible to the next
General Meeting. This will require us to spend time working on better
communication between Washoe and Clark counties and finding adequate
spaces in both counties to accomodate as many people as possible. I
like the idea of holding the conference in two locations because this
allows the maximum amount of people to participate. Also, we're going
to need more time so we don't feel rushed at these General Meetings.
I'd like to get to know the participants as best as possible, so the
space we get in both counties needs to be available for a period of at
least 4 hours.

I also think it's important for us to do another mailing. I've gotten
two calls from people wondering why the mailing we most recently sent
out got sent out so late, and both of these callers had very little
idea about what the party stands for. So, your idea about including a
questionnaire is right on. You're right. It'll help educate
registered Greens about their own party and provide them with wording
they can use to talk to their friends and families. I also like the
timing that you're proposing ... send it out prior to the Sept. 4
picnic. The only problem we have in doing this is the funding, but if
you're willing to donate the funds ... well ... then ... there's no
more funding problem! That's great!

As for September 24, I'll be working on a committee within Peace Now
which will be planning a march/rally for Las Vegas, so I'll have plenty
of information about that. I'll keep the group updated on
future committee meetings so others can attend as well. On March 19,
the Clark County Greens had our own action at a military recruiting
center which ended up getting great media coverage. We could do
something similar on Sept. 24 if we want. We should probably add this
to the EC agenda on July 31 as well.

Oh, and one more thing ... we still need a place to meet for the EC
meeting. I contacted a professor at UNLV and he will get back to me by
the end of the week regarding a room at UNLV. If we get it, it'll be a
perfect place. However, there's a chance we might not get it so all of
us have to keep looking for space. Ideally, this space will be free and
available for at least 4 hours.

Jason
