July 17, 05 Green Party Meeting

Approximately 20 members present between Reno & Las Vegas locals

Agenda:
1. Introductions
2. Approve Agenda & Decision Making Process
3. Amend ByLaws
4. Discussion & Election of members of Executive Council
5. Discussion of candidates for 2006 & 2008
6. Discussion & update on Green Party National Conference
7. Set date/time place for first Executive Council Meeting
8. Set date/time/place for next General Meeting
9. Announcements

The meeting began with a speaker phone call to the Reno local chapter and 
introductions of persons present.

One issue was added to the agenda after #4 with the approval of the group - 
Voter Fraud
Decision Making process was agreed upon to include registered green party 
voters and those with intent to register under Green Party.  If there was an 
impasse on an issue a 2/3 vote would be required.

Amend Bylaws - The following 3 amendments to the bylaws were approved

  1) Article III, Section 1- Before "The Green Party of Nevada shall consist 
of affiliated local groups      (Locals), organized by county." added new 
title for section to read "Locals."

    2) Article III, Section 1 - Added subsection "A":
    "A. Each local group may create its own bylaws for making local 
decisions based on the Green Party of Nevada bylaws."

    3) Article III, Section 1 - add Subsection "B":
   "B. Each local is responsible for interacting with organizations within 
the county, for making press releases, organizing actions, and generally 
building the party at the county level."

More Amendments to the bylaws will be presented at the next General meeting.

Discussion and Election of members for the Executive Council began with a 
brief explanation of what the different positions responsibilities are.
At-Large members: Helps Executive Council make decisions (4 Positions)
Secretary: Day to day running of Green Party business (1 Position)
Treasurer: Green Party Money Matters (1 Position)
Co-Chair: Organize meetings and day to day running of Green Party (2 
Positions)

The question was asked if any one present would like to run for any position 
on the Executive Council. 2 members Kim and Lauren wished to nominate 
themselves for the position of At-Large members.
The following members ran and were unanimously approved for the positions 
listed below:
At-Large members: Bob Giaquinta, Kim, Lauren
Secretary: Charles Imboden
Treasurer: Barbara Ewing
Co-Chair: Tracy Crawford, Jason Halprin

Voter Fraud - Reno member Patricia wished to seek the endorsement and 
financial support for a law suit involving the machines which count votes 
cast at elections.  Patricia was requested to forward a written statement 
detailing the specifics of the case for Green Party member inspection, to 
which she agreed.

Due to time constraints the following items on the agenda were not discussed 
at this meeting
Discussion of candidates for 2006 & 2008
Discussion & update on Green Party National Conference
Announcements

The following locations, dates and times were approved for the next 
meetings:
Executive Council Meeting - Barbara Ewings Home, July 31, 05 at Noon
General Meeting- Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Rd., October 16, 05 
at Noon
