Despite the ethereal concerns for which George Harrison became best known, =
these lyrics, we submit, show the quiet Beatle to be a master of political r=
ealism. We miss him already.<BR>

C-SPAN TO TAPE DAVID R. HENDERSON'S TALK ON FREEDOM (12/4/01)<BR>
<BR>
We are pleased to announce that C-SPAN will be covering the December 4th In=
dependent Policy Forum, &quot;Why Freedom Matters More Than Ever,&quot; feat=
uring economist David R. Henderson.<BR>
<BR>
Freedom, according to Henderson, is as important during wartime and recessi=
on as it is during peacetime and prosperity. Furthermore, argues Henderson, =
many of the laws that have emanated from Washington, D.C., since September 1=
1th are destructive of American freedom and have resulted from pressure-grou=
p opportunism or economic ignorance.<BR>
<BR>
The President has already signed into law far-ranging &quot;anti-terrorist&=
quot; legislation and a huge economic &quot;stimulus&quot; package loaded wi=
th pork. How bad is this? How much worse can it get? What can Americans do d=
uring times of national crises to safeguard their freedom against government=
 encroachment?<BR>
<BR>
Dr. Henderson will also discuss his new book, THE JOY OF FREEDOM: An Econom=
ist's Odyssey, an insightful analysis of economic policy and an inspiring me=
moir about his own career in defense of liberty.<BR>

<BR>
<BR>
&quot;THE JOY OF FREEDOM is passionate and eloquent, yet at the same time, =
thoughtful, informed, and profound. A splendid statement of the moral case f=

ey of its practical virtues and of the harm done by widespread government in=
tervention.&quot;<BR>
 &nbsp;-- MILTON FRIEDMAN, Nobel Laureate in Economic Science<BR>
<BR>
&quot;THE JOY OF FREEDOM is an engaging tale of Henderson's odyssey to the =
wonders of freedom.&quot;<BR>
 &nbsp;-- JOHN STOSSEL, correspondent, ABC News<BR>
<BR>
&quot;THE JOY OF FREEDOM is a dazzling intellectual memoir, a high-level le=
sson in market economics, a terrific read.&quot;<BR>
 &nbsp;-- DANIEL SELIGMAN, columnist, FORBES Magazine<BR>
