[NV Greens] Minutes of meeting 5/15/05

Sun May 15 16:20:49 PDT 2005

Attendees were Barb Ewing, Charles Imboden, Justin Halprin and David Curtis
(by cell phone). The meeting began at 12:10.

We discussed the recent picnic where many people have stated they could not
find our table although they did go to Sunset Park that day. But a great
time was had by all attendees.
We have paid $60 to reserve a shaded picnic are (C) at Sunset Park for
September 4th from 11 to 4 PM. Currently, the park has no signs identifying
any picnic areas other than picnic area A. I complained. They said that
situation would be rectified. I told them I'd be over there again to make
certain the sign was in place. David said he would try to find biodegradable
dark green balloons that we could use to indicate our picnic site which is
located between the pool and the lake. We also discussed making a placard
with a post that could be pounded into the ground in case the park does not
get the signs up. Parking for picnic area C is in the pool parking lot.

We agreed to endorse these Las Vegas Peace Now Actions: Labor Anti-War
Action and the counter-recruitment actions. Barb agreed to call high schools
to find out when military recruiters were coming and to get permission to
have a table &/or make a counter-recruitment talk.

Regarding our mailing to Clark County Registered Greens:
Barb will call Paul Exteberri of the NV Green Party to see whether they have
a bulk mailing permit; and if not, whether they would agree to get one if we
paid half the cost for a non-profit bulk mailing permit.
Charles will manage the CCGP member database, perhaps using the e-base
program. He will send out another list of CCGP registered members in Excel
so that corrections can be made to the individual databases as we phone. We
will commence phoning the database as we did before to get correct addresses
or to delete registrants who have moved out of Clark County.
The contents of the mailing will include:
1) Do you want to run for office? - along with a list of local offices that
will be open in 2006.
2) Information about meetings and request that they attend.
3)Information about our website.
4)picnic invitation along with directions to picnic area.
5)request that any donations (no matter how small) be mailed to our PO Box:
Green Party c/o Barb Ewing, 1801 E Tropicana Ave, Ste# 9-151, Las Vegas NV
89119.

Barb will contact the Clark County Board of Elections to update her contact
information on their website. Jason will visit the Board of Elections in
person to get information on any updated regulations about getting on the
ballot.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:30.
