Greens to Protest the Iraq War in DC on September 24th
Join members of the Green Party on Saturday, September 24 to rally and protest the War in Iraq. To help raise awareness of the Green Party's role in the peace movement, Be seen being Green. Please wear Green Party buttons, arm bands, T-shirts, flags, and banners. FRIDAY, Sept. 23
DC Statehood Greens welcome reception: 7-9 p.m. at La Orilla, home of Dave Bosserman and Olivia Caldoval (1739 Irving St, NW, Washington, DC. Metro: [Columbia Heights Metro on the Greenline] Info: orilla at comcast.net).

SATURDAY, Sept. 24
Green Party FEEDER MARCH AND RALLY:
The Green Party Peace Action Committee will sponsor a rally at the Iraqi Embassy, at 9 a.m.. We will "stage" at Dupont Circle (Metro: Dupont Circle on the red line), and the proceed to the Iraqi Embassy at 18th and P S, NW, for a short rally. We will present a solidarity letter to the people of Iraq, calling for full and equal rights and a representative government.

RALLY: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. - McPherson Square, 14th and K St., NW (Metro: McPherson Square on blue line) Speakers include: Kevin Zeese (GP Senate Candidate-Md.); Rebecca Rotzler (Green Deputy Mayor of New Paltz, N.Y.); Elena Everett; Michele Tingling-Clemmons; Kevin McCarron (DC Statehood Greens and Veterans for Peace); others.
Joint UFPJ/ANSWER RALLY: 11:30 a.m. - Ellipse (South Lawn of White House)
The main UFPJ/ANSWER Rally will precede the march. Green Malik Rahim, from New Orleans, is a featured speaker. Others include: Cindy Sheehan, Julian Bond, Rep. Lynn Woolsey, Rep. Maxine Waters, Jim Hightower and others.
OPERATION CEASEFIRE CONCERT: A line-up of music stars (hip hop, rock 'n roll, including DC Statehood Green Head-Roc and country star Steve Earle) will perform, on the grounds of the Washington Monument, from 2:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Hosted by Green Jello Biafra, and organized by a team including Green Adam Eidinger. Speakers include Green Rebecca Rotzler.
UFPJ Peace and Justice Festival: The Green Party will have lots of Green merchandise and information at our table in the National Organizations tent-come check out our brand new "BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!" Magnets, T-Shirts, Buttons, and more! .
The Green Party's Peace Action Committee is also a co-sponsor of the Depleted Uranium (DU) exhibit. Other tents focus on counter-recruitment; global justice; and other topics. Tables are open Saturday 10 am-10 pm, and Sunday 10 am-6 pm.
SUNDAY Sept. 25:
Civil Disobedience Training: all day (check www.unitedforpeace.org)
Interfaith Service: 6 pm - Washington Monument Grounds
MONDAY Sept. 26:
Civil disobedience actions at White House Details for Monday's activities will be discussed at the Civil Disobedience Training on Sunday.
