I am a member of the L.P . as is a very active member of G.P activities up North . Last Presidential cycle the L.P and the G.P worked hard together . I know that we have our differences but I also know we have more in common . I post to this list when there is an activity that I feel has interest for your people as well such as a protest against excluding 3rd Party' in debates , a Anti-Patriot Act meeting etc .
In Paul E's letter I couldnt help but be a little offended by being lumped together with the IAP and GOP as obvious , I think he meant obvious enemys . Please correct me if I'm wrong. I admit I dont know much about the G.P platfom as I'm sure most of you dont know theL.P platform and I'm not here to party promote . I am curious though as to what issues the G.P has conflict with us on besides taxes , we think they are robbery . TheL.P has a wide variety of belifs in many areas and a broad spectrum of supporters from 2nd ammendment 'right ' anti tax to 'left leaning ' drug war reforming - ant war - free speech acvocates such as myself .
Some L.P members strongly disagree with me whn I tell them i vote for other 3rd Party' ecsp. you guys . When no L.P candidate is running i vote for you guys if available and yes , ugh ! < I vote for an IAP candidate sometimes too . I dont vote for Republicrats unless I know the candidate and have a compelling reason , i vote NOTA quite a bit . I just wonder if we 3rd party' ) focus on diferences what makes us better than the other guys ? Until such point as any of us are capable of winning prominent elections or even allowed in debates there is really no point in fighting eachother .Divided and conquered comes to mind . The Dems and the GOP are the enemy . You are not my enemy , and i sincerly hope one day we can have a real reason to 'fight ' like both of our 'party' have candidates in a important televised debate or we are the top 2 running candidates for a winnable election . Until then we are all in the same struggle and I can gaurantee you we are not the enemy .
I never post to this list with conversation and I probably wont again as this is a G.P list and not for disussion of other 3rd Party' . I will continue to post maybe 2 , 3 times a year with event or protest info I know is of interest to G.P people and I hope that it is still acceptable .

peace and much love .,..deb

Hi All,
Jason, you make good points and questions. 'tho maybe a little too offended to reply in a positive manner?
I'll look forward to PaulE's reply, and offer that he could probably create a new group, of just the lists to send his general information to.
I've observed that mail to lists generates far less communication than sending notes to individuals, even if they are form letters.. Some how, list activity is suppressed by uncertainty of who, if anyone is reading. This might not be the case where the activities being addressed are of personal interest and things the list subscribers are involved with. So far the Green Party discussions that I see haven't struck a chord- neural or musical- that necessitates or even prompts participation.. I'd like that to change, as it's by dialog that we can pick up on each other's opinions and perspectives. I know what I know.. old stuff and dull! What do you know? Probably interesting.. Your reply tells me you know of people who'd like to participate. .. and.. the reasons they aren't are...?
So far the issues of the GP must have seemed pretty peripheral to the underlying needs of individuals and our communities. The hypocrisy associated with politicians, and the entrenched mind set that it takes a major party to make changes, are deterrents to minor "party" participation. Why bother? And the "truth" is they don't. If one comprehends the magnitude of the problems created by behaviors of the major parties, and can remain less than overwhelmed while sharing positive options and solutions, it all is much easier, -to participate or energize others.
Meanwhile, evangelical churches are getting environmentally conscious. Issues central to Greens 20 years ago are being addressed by others. Maybe the cause for Greens will be to remain in the front, always exposing and addressing the lurking issues that others would like to hide. Take the abuse, feel out numbered, and be Right On!
good luck
